It is clear that a big difference can be made globally by doing your bit here in Croydon.
That is wht the Labour Party in Croydon is demanding a big change in recycling services in Croydon. Shockingly Croydon Council send 74% of our waste to landfill. We want to change that and we dont want the Council to take the 'easy option' of an Incinerator on the Croydon borders.
Average domestic fuel bills for gas and electricity have, as we know, increased from £572 to £1,287 between January 2003 and September 2008.
Can we do our bit without paying over the odds though? The Co-operative Party suggests a way forward, through 'collective power'. A new form of Co-operative that has the potencial to save the consumer anything up to 45% on fuel bills by exploiting the regulatory system in the UK and cutting out the middle man from the equation. Sounds exciting? come and discuss at our conference on 3rd October, 10am - 4pm at Stanley Halls, 12 South Norwood Hill. Register at www.croydonlabour.org.uk/environment
