Labour: fighting for you across Croydon and Sutton
After 4 years of Tory rule street lighting in Waddon is as bad as ever. Although Labour Government has provided funding to Croydon to upgrade its street lighting, the current Tory Council has failed to improve any of Waddon's street lights in the last 4 years.
On the doorstep many Waddon residents tell your Labour action team of their fear of going out on the street at night due to the poor lighting. Many women have told us that if the street lighting was better they would feel much safer, especially when walking home at night in the winter.
In 2005 the last Labour Council started the street light improvement programme, with Denning Avenue as one of the first street to be improved. Hamida said "Residents of Denning Avenue have told us that this has made a huge difference to them, and they feel much safer now. "
If elected your Waddon Labour Action team will fight to make sure that the street lighting programme is restarted as a matter of urgency.
