Tory Council Cancel Community Hall

Waddon First
  • Residents protest against loss of community hall
Residents protest against loss of community hallResidents on the Waddon Estate are furious that the Council has dropped plans for a dedicated community hall as part of the redevelopment of the Waylands and Propeller pub site This protest was organised by local residents and had a strong turn out. Speaking to local residents it was clear that their top priority was a dedicated space to bring the community together. This comes on top of the three year delay in building a swimming pool on the site by the Tory Council who have...
  • Tory Council leave development site empty for three years
Tory Council leave development site empty for three years(l to r) Hamida Ali, Joy Prince and David Christison are furious that the Croydon Council has purposefully left the site on Purley Way empty for the last three years. The Tories have made so many promises about when this site will be brought back in to use, it is hard to believe any of them. They had planned hundreds of flats to pay for the development, they have now 'reduced' this to a couple of hundred! Most of these flats would be built to overlook the houses on the east side of Purley Way towards Croydon Town Centre. Come...

  • Haling Manor Success Story
Haling Manor Success StoryThe Government recognises the impressive achievements at local school, Haling Manor: "The long-term trend is one of sustained improvement and the continued improvement in results is testament to the dedication of our teachers and hard working pupils" The local Conservatives ignore this evidence and continue to run down this good school. Two Conservative Councillors sit on the board of the school and still run it down! Schools change over time and with different leadership teams. Recognising that Haling Manor has changed is simply a matter of looking at the facts. Croydon Conservatives are not interested in our area....
