  • Croydon Conservatives Support fly-posting
Sadly Croydon Conservatives have reached a new low in Croydon politics by resorting to fly-posting billboards across the North of the Borough. With all of their Ashcroft millions you would think that they would not need to indulge in such tasteless acts of vandalism, but the Conservative Party in Croydon seems to be promoting illegally fly-posting their literature on billboards across Croydon. Croydon Conservatives would have you believe that they care about the environment, clean streets and keeping our council tax low. So why are they the only party in London raising council tax during these tough economic times? Surely...
  • Upper Norwood Joint Library under threat
For four years Upper Norwood Joint Library has been starved of vital resources and undermined by Croydon's Conservative administrations, who have placed the future of the library under question. Labour candidates in South Norwood, Jane Avis, Kathy Bee and Wayne Lawlor have assured the Upper Norwood Joint Library Campaign that we will do everything we can to secure the independence of the library, fight to ensure that at the very least we match the funding the library receives from Lambeth. Labour candidate Jane Avis said, "I have supported the Upper Norwood Library for 12 years, and will continue to ensure...
  • Fly tipping on the increase
Since the Conservatives introduced the bulky waste charge, residents in Auckland Road, Auckland Rise, Warminster Road, Holmesdae and Whitworth Roads have been experiencing unacceptable levels of bulky waste such as sofa's, broken washing machine's and fridge freezers being dumped in the streets. Local resident on Holmesdale Road, Bernard Brookes said, "Croydon's Conservative council really need to get a grip. We are just recovering from recession, and the economy is fragile, just we are still being charged council tax - whilst neighbouring Lambeth pay nothing. Surely this is not fair or equitable. Croydon Tories need to come clean and admit that...
  • Reasons to vote Labour in South Norwood and Croydon North
If you are one of 100's of South Norwood residents who received a postal vote over the past week you are about to decide who will represent you in Parliament and on Croydon Council. Your decision will affect your lives for the next 4 years. Your vote counts in South Norwood. Why vote Labour in Croydon North: Britain is coming out of a major world economic crisis and it was only the forceful interventions of Gordon Brown, Alastair Darling and your Labour Government that stopped an economic catastrophe happening. Governments can make a difference and the Labour...
