Public Meeting on Menta's plans for Cherry Orchard Road

View of Menta's Skyscraper Proposal Over the last 6 months Menta have been carrying out a series of local events with residents to show their latest development ideas. As Local Councillors, we are keen to give local residents the chance to publicly question Menta’s Directors and Architects about their proposals as they are close to submitting their application to the Council, and we are pleased that Menta have now agreed to do this.

Like many local residents we are keen on the new East-West Bridge Link from Cherry Orchard Road to the station and beyond to Lansdowne Road, but we are still concerned about the height of the tallest Skyscraper, which is twice the height of NLA Tower, and the impact it will have on local residents and our homes. We are worried about the availability of parking spaces locally; we would like more on-site affordable housing; and we are keen that any planning gain money is spent on improving Cherry Orchard Road, an area neglected by Croydon Council.

View of proposed steps

We are keen to hear your views and comments on all aspects of Menta’s proposals. We want to know what you think about the proposals, what’s good and bad, and what should be dropped or improved? Whether we should oppose or support them when Menta finally submits it planning application? To help us with this you can tell us by completing our questionnaire online below.

In short, we want to know from you whether a 171 metre Skyscraper is the right price for local people to pay to achieve the regeneration of Cherry Orchard Road and an improved East Croydon Station?
