Labour: fighting for you across Croydon and Sutton
Labour candidates for South Norwood, Jane Avis, Kathy Bee and Wayne Lawlor spoke to residents in Southern Avenue who expressed their anger and disappointment that the Tory council has done nothing about the state of our roads.
Labour candidate Jane Avis said, "Residents are paying unacceptable levels of council tax, and for what, the council to do nothing about the state of our roads? The council talk about value for money, but the reality is very different".
Labour candidate Kathy Bee said, "Croydon Tories think that this level of neglect is acceptable. We have received so many complaints from residents about pot holes in the road. The Tory response is to dismiss these complaints and blame the previous Labour administration. It is about time the Tories took responsibility for failing the people of South Norwood".
Labour candidate Wayne Lawlor said, "This just shows how much Croydon's Tory council value South Norwood. One resident has described the state of our roads like that of a third world country. We know the Tories are not responsible for the weather, but they are responsible for the state shocking state of our roads by their inaction."
