Save Norbury Library

Norbury Labour CouncillorsThe Council proposal to close six libraries including Norbury Library hit the Norbury Residents’ Associations in Norbury with horror. Cllr Maggie Mansell presented their 4000 signature petition to Council. Library campaigner Mark Smith spoke from the public gallery. Labour councillors explained how people value library services, the only local council service.

Labour moved a motion at a meeting of the council to save all the libraries. Conservative councillors voted it down.

Residents marched to the Library; Celebrities and media have supported the campaign.

Labour councillors want to invest in libraries.

What improvements would you make to Norbury library? Let us know what you would do.

The final decision has been put back to July.

Petition to Croydon Council asking for a Clean-up of Norbury and North Croydon

We, the Residents’ Associations, business people and communities of Norbury, petition Croydon Council to clean-up Norbury and the other wards in North Croydon.  We want and need a free bulk collection service, fly-tipping prevention, campaign against dog mess, effective street cleaning, business and domestic rubbish collection.
