    Addington Conservation TeamAddington Conservation Team (ACT) have been active in clearing the hedgerow bordering Mays Field and the New Addington Trading Estate AT Vulcan Way. ACT are hoping that Mays Field will be designated a conservation site and that this will protect the habitat of skylarks, an endangered species, that nest in the vicinity. ACT are anxious to persuade the Council to reject the planning application for a proposed Commercial Waste Station which will attract rats, natural predators of the skylark and are active in the campaign I organised with traders and residents to stop this crazy proposal.     Central Parade re-development The successful application to have parts of Central Parade designated as a Village Green has scuppered the Council's existing plans for a re-development based on the construction of a large Tesco Supermarket together with a large number of apartments built above the store. This delays the delivery of the much needed new swimming pool, health centre and other community facilities. But it does give the community the opportunity to take the lead in deciding how Central Parade should be developed.
