Campaign Launch - Take the profit out of parking

The Labour Party in Croydon today launched a hard hitting Campaign aimed at the Tory Council abuse of the Parking situation in Croydon.

  • In 2009 the Tory Council will be collecting at least another £700,000 in parking fines, parking charges and permit charges for residents, charities and businesses.
  • This is an unfair tax on local shops, residents and businesses
  • Unfair treatment of residents - one rule for Coulsdon, another rule for the rest of the borough
  • Costing local jobs - local shops and businesses are suffering from this punitive parking regime and are consequently choosing not to employ as many people as trade goes elsewhere

The Labour Party wants the profit taken out of parking.
