  • Phase 2 of Addiscombe Railway Park opens Satuday 13th at 10.30am
Phase 2 of Addiscombe Railway Park opens Satuday 13th at 10.30amAs predicted Tory Control Croydon Council is going to open Phase 2 of the Addiscombe Railway Park on Saturday 13th March 2010 at 10.30am. And surprise, surprise the opening is being led by Deputy Mayor (and Tory Addiscombe Councillor) Russell Jackson. Of course, this has nothing to do with the fact that after Sunday 28th March 2010 Croydon Council has to go into pre-election purdah for the May 6th 2010 local elections, and from that date can't be seen to be supporting one party over another, which explains the rush to open the park in March. Mark Watson of...
  • Croydon Advertiser article on Addiscombe Railway Park
Croydon Advertiser article on Addiscombe Railway ParkCroydon's local newspaper has publish an expose on Croydon Tories plan to rush the opening of Phase 2 of the Addiscombe Railway Park before the election purdah starts at the end of March 2010 for the May 6th 2010 local elections. At the Croydon Council Meeting tonight the Tories shamelessly confirmed they planned to "open" phase 2 the park on March 13th 2010 even though the park is not yet in a fit state to open, as they needed to do this before the end of March otherwise political restrictions would kick in to stop this blantant electioneering. Sean...

On our visit today, 17th February 2010, to see the new tree planting by the BCTV on the new phase of the Addiscombe Railway Park it was upsetting to see how much damage has been done to the park. Contractors have been working on two areas of the...
  • How Labour has made Addiscombe Better Part 1 Fellows Court
How Labour has made Addiscombe Better Part 1 Fellows CourtAddiscombe and its residents are benefitting today from the decisions made by the Labour Government and the previous Labour Council in Croydon. Mark Watson said: "Fellows Court was built because a Labour Council recognised that frail older residents of Croydon should be looked after in modern, affordable, and supportive environment." In 2004 the then Labour Croydon Council decided to apply to the Labour Government to help fund the rebuilding of its homes and support centres for the frail older people. The Labour Government agreed to provide PFI credits of over £30 millions to achieve this. After extensive consultation with...
  • Addisombe Launch Free Hot School Meals Campaign at Woodside and Davidson Schools
Addisombe Launch Free Hot School Meals Campaign at Woodside and Davidson SchoolsOn Friday 12th February 2010 Addiscombe Labour Party launched its Free Hot School Meal Campaign for all Primary School Pupils at Davidson and Woodside Primary Schools. The cost of this pledge will be met from using some of the savings from scrapping the luxury Council HQ that Croydon Tories are planning to build for themselves. Patricia Hay-Justice, one of Labour Candidates for Addiscombe Ward said "as a mother I know that providing good hot food is key to my children doing well at school, I welcome this pledge which will help all primary...
