A safer Croydon

MORE POLICE

Croydon Labour strongly opposed the Conservative Council’s
decision to scrap the plans to invest in new, brighter street lighting
for all of Croydon’s streets, and to cut police numbers.

Croydon Labour will re-instate the street lights renewal programme
as a top priority. We all know that brighter street-lighting reduces
crime and anti-social behaviour, including fly-tipping.

Croydon Labour will:

  • protect the popular local ‘Safer Neighbourhood Police Teams’ from Conservative cuts and political control
  • replace Croydon’s outdated street lighting
  • introduce more police patrols in evenings and weekends to tackle anti-social behaviour
  • support young people to take part in positive activities
