A message from Tony Newman, Leader of Croydon Labour Group

Tony Newman Cropped on Red

On Thursday 6th May 2010, you will have the opportunity to decide who
will run your local services for the next four years.

This year, more so than ever before, you will have a clear choice between
the current Conservative Council and Labour.

Over the past four years, the Conservative Council has promised much and
delivered very little for local people. In fact all they have done is promise
us an incinerator in Waddon and plush new offices for themselves at the
Town Hall, whilst introducing Croydon’s highest ever council tax.

Our promise to you is simple. If elected on 6th May, Croydon Labour will
deliver:

  • An affordable Council Tax, with discounts for the elderly
  • A safer Croydon, with new street lighting and 24 hour neighbourhood policing
  • Free, healthy school meals for all children at our primary schools
  • A greener Croydon, with increased recycling, no incinerator and cleaner streets
  • A better Croydon, with investment in leisure and arts

The choice between Labour and Conservative is clear, and it is you, the
residents of Croydon, who will decide.
